China Film Archive (China Film Art Research Center), an official member of the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF), is a national film archive, as well as an institution for film theory research and education, and for national film publicity and promotion. Its major functions include: film collection and classification, preservation and restoration, film research and access, technology research and development, film academic research, film talents cultivation, international film festivals and exhibitions planning, and Chinese and foreign cultural exchange and cooperation. China Film Archive is also in charge of the development and management of the national film archive digital platform, and the operation of the Nationwide Alliance of Arthouse Cinema. Publications such as China Film News, Contemporary Cinema, Contemporary Animation, and Movie are issued by China Film Archive.
